About Me

I design AI products that people actually trust, and I build them in code.

For the past several years that's meant complex, high-stakes software: tools where the user is an expert under time pressure and a confusing interface has real consequences. The interesting problem in AI design isn't the automation, it's making the reasoning legible enough that someone can disagree with it. That means sequencing what gets shown when, citing claims back to their source, and being explicit about what the system doesn't know.

I don't just prototype with AI, I design in it. I work directly in Claude Code, grounding prototypes in real component libraries so they double as engineering specs, and I ship fixes in the codebase rather than handing off a file and hoping.

I got here by an unusual route: philosophy, then biomedical research publications, where every claim had to be traceable to evidence. That's still how I work. Research first, systems over screens. I've led design teams, most recently 18 designers and researchers, but I've deliberately stayed close to the craft.

When I'm not designing, I'm usually dialing in a pour-over, running a coffee review account nobody asked for, or occasionally producing a batch of puff pastry.
